Huh!

4 12 2007

I did not go to Bukom, nor did I go out with my friend in the end! Suppose this is what happens when I actually do plan something… it never happens!

I ended up having dinner with CJ at Selegie and shopping at PS. Bought a pair of pajamas.  I keep thinking I can spend a bit more on other stuff because I hardly ever buy clothes or shoes nowadays. But the truth is my spending on clothes and shoes have gone to vitamins and toiletries! Just yesterday I spent 70 bucks on Crabtree and Evelyn stuff in the morning and 60 bucks at John Little in the evening. Argh! I wish I’d stop spending money because I should really be saving it for the trip.

Suppose I should be a bit more liberal about spending on this trip, what with it being my kind of graduation trip.

Anyway, yes! I did cut my hair. And straightened it. Again. In a span of 6 months I straightened my hair twice. I think there is a warning against doing things like that to your hair too often, but mine seems fine right now.

Geeky picture of me smiling too toothy-ily but it gets the job done. I look like a boy, no?

Oily girl

3 12 2007

I get to do something tomorrow that not even employees of Shell might have done.

I am going to Bukom!

Okay, granted that it is not the most exciting or glamourous of trips, but I think it’s an experience. I get to wear the hard hat and boots and all!

Just remembered I have to meet Amilia after work tomorrow and I am probably gonna be oily (I don’t know, I’m guessing). We are going to buy travel stuff! I’m not going travelling with her but we’re just gonna go get some travel stuff because we are going at about the same time. I’m probably going to get a pair of sweat pants, pajamas and a neck pillow. There is the stress of going on a first time shopping trip with a new friend, but I think it’ll be fun.

I am not an exciting person

2 12 2007

I’ve been so lazy about blogging, my recent entries are either photos with single line captions, or brainless ‘opinion’ entries which I think has no value add at all.

Strange thing is that my blog hits have always been about 50-100 since I started this blog (about 1/2 of them come from google searches – I don’t really advertise my blog to friends, so i figure it comes from people who googled models with ‘exotic’ names like Natalia Vodianova etc). And for some reason in the past 2 weeks my hits have been an average of 200 – 300, peaking at 338 on one day.

That’s quite a bit of hits, which is surprising considering I did not update much. And what’s updated is quite boring. I once blogged about ‘Skinny people rule!’, referring to the whole incident in Madrid where they banned models whose BMI is below XX number. Hits for that period of time were crazy until I started spelling the names of the people involved with asterisks, so that the google machine won’t pick it up.

Anyway, a couple of weeks back I noticed an incoming link from a N*kia internal website, which was a bit surprising. No activity there anymore so I wonder what that was about. Wrong link perhaps.

I’m sorry

2 11 2007

I feel like shite right now.

I wonder why some clients have to be so rude to their agencies. Is there an inherent defect in them or rude gene that they are born with? Do they like going around making people feel bad? Are they addicted to being unhappy and angry all the time?

With CJ

21 10 2007

Just came back from dinner at SICC with CJ and his dad. I guess it’s a good thing that his dad and mom seems to like me.

Wandering around town today, we walked past an art installation at Scotts. I thought it was interesting, and he just opened the door and walked straight in! I didn’t know it was open to public, I mean, I thought we were just meant to look at it from the outside. But you can actually interact with it – from the write up in the inside panel you could see the artist (Ketna Patel) wanted people to go in and interact with the pieces. I loved it. It was so colourful, but not jaringly so. There were many little interesting headlines and signages in the art pieces. And most interesting of all, there was a neon red sign at the centre of the pieces, which you could see when you entered. It says ‘Open’. I wonder if it is an invitation for people to go in, and not just observe from the outside.

dsc00992.jpg

Funny thing is, people keep looking at us when we were inside, like ‘What are they doing inside?’ Yet nobody came in! Well, except Mel! (: she saw me, and was standing outside wondering if I was the artist and this was my show and I was setting up. We went in and took photos. Hee.

CJ took me to Jack’s Place to eat lamb chop, because I had been craving for it. And I think Jack’s Place was the first place I’d had mint sauce with lamb, which tastes absolutely fantastic. I’m never having lamb without mint sauce again. For CJ, it was the first place he had garlic bread. (;

dsc01359.jpg

Funny, but it doesn’t taste as nice as I remembered. The first time was at Yen San building (which was closed when we went to look for it the first time round! The disappointment) and it was on hotplate. Well, I’m always on the hunt for good lamb and mint sauce so please let me know!

Another yummy dinner. We wanted to got to Da Paolo’s Pizza bar, but happened to be on a Monday and it was closed! So we settled for 2 pieces of pizza, Seafood and mushroom from Da Paolo’s Gastronomia. Hmm… I didn’t like it as much as the salmon. The salmon was probably the best I’ve eaten! And seriously, if you are going to spend 20++bucks eating insipid pizza from Pizza Hut, may as well spend it at Da Paolo’s. Pizza Bar prices are around that range too, for a pizza. And you get something of better quality.

dsc01310.jpg

I had fun that night though. It was me and CJ (Labuan) sitting at the little picnic benches outside Da Paolo’s eating our dinner of pizza and plain water. He was telling me about his life when he was a kid and staying at the Chip Bee area, just upstairs of where we were eating. And I imagined him running down the stairs every morning and sitting at the window every night before he went to bed.

At Borders. We were looking at calenders and I picked up one of penguins.

dsc01413.jpg

I saw this and HAD to show this to him. ‘Wah! So fat! It’s so cute!’

About a week back we went to this Cosafe Maid cafe at Chijmes. No, we are not into cosplay or anime, but he just wanted to check it out. That’s what he says although I think he was more into the whole French maid outfits thing. :P

Anyway, erm, what was it again? A cosplay cafe? Cause I didn’t feel it. It felt like any normal restaurant but with girls in French maid uniforms. I guess they probably sensed that I won’t be too receptive to kawaii, or realistic cosplay maid type treatment. But they could have been more demonstrative with CJ. Really, I mean, I’m not the jealous girlfriend type. *shoves CJ to anime girls*

dsc01431.jpg

The food was decent though. This is my prawn aglio olio. I’m into anything aglio olio nowadays. Basically, my choices during meal times consist of these couple of food types : Pasta aglio olio, lamb chops with mint sauce, escargot, smoked salmon. Back to topic, the food is decent, I liked it very much.

dsc01434.jpg

Across the road, we stopped for him to have a smoke. I can’t really take the smoke, so he moved 5 feet away from me to smoke. I was standing facing slightly away from him because I was looking at something else, and I folded my arms because it was cold. A couple walked past and I heard CJ say ‘It’s okay! We are not arguing!’. Apparently the woman thought I was angry at him, and he was smoking because he was stressed out! Ha!

At East Coast we found this tiny little kitten scampering around. He is tiny! Seriously he is about the size of a 750ml Listerine bottle. He purred (the kitten, not CJ) when we played with him. And oh, someone actually did a very mean thing to the kitten! When CJ found him the first time, he (the kitten) had a rubberband around his neck! It really is a very cruel thing to do, because when the kitten grows up it is going to hurt him.

dsc01479.jpg

Anyway, I hope someone adopts it. Jac took some cat food from her place for the kitten but it seems disinterested in eating.

Okay, abrupt ending. Going to sleep.

So nobody is working on a Sunday…

14 10 2007

Except for me. I’m probably out of my mind. But hey, here I am. Not working on the laptop at home, mind you. I’m IN THE OFFICE. Out of my own free will. Even the MS extranet is not working, because it’s a public holiday.

Because tomorrow is a declared holiday, I’ve decided to work in the morning, and cut my hair in the afternoon. Then go back to work.

Mad. I’m mad.

Busybee

2 10 2007

dsc012841.JPG

Busy week. I can’t complain because it’s good exposure and learning.

I like being busy if I’m occupied all the time, but this is more like ‘Help! drowning!’

Shangri-La yesterday and Marina Mandarin today and tomorrow. GE Day for the first, and the second I cannot say because it is confidential. I’ve got to utilize my time better. I’m juggling a couple of jobs, a meeting on Friday (which means another set of projects coming my way) and trying to plan something for the end of the year.

And it’s 0040 and I am still working!

WTF?!?!

11 09 2007

Areas around my place – ‘clusters’ – are reported to have the top dengue cases in Singapore. One of the is the highest in 9 years! St 31, St 21, Centre…

I am practically surrounded by people with dengue!

And I hate sleeping with air conditioning (makes my skin dry and it’s too cold anyway) so I am so vulnerable to these mosquitoes! :(

Getting fat

11 09 2007

My office is about 5 minutes away from Da Paolo Gastronomia. Sam and I went there last week and I keep thinking about the pasta salad! (I had the mushroom flan)

I love the smell of the place, and me being a fan of (1)pasta (2)mushrooms (3)sun dried tomatoes (4)anything with olive oil am very very very happy. Anyway, I just had the pasta salad. It’s not bad, but I didn’t like the asparagus or rocket?

dsc01168.jpg

(Don’t ask me why I took it from this angle… it makes me feel dizzy)

So anyway, yes. I think I’ll definitely get fat from repeatedly returning to buy more goodies. After work today I’m gonna go get the lemon cupcakes! :D :D

Edit – I will be sitting upstairs with the designers / creative for a month or so, before moving downstairs with the projects side. I love it! We are in a room, and it’s v cosy, with a balcony outside. I’m just sitting beside the floor to ceiling windows so there is a lot of natural light. And they play music loudly, and go home early. Haha. So it’s now me alone, and I’m watching the Simpsons. :D
