Happy(presents!)Xmas

26 12 2007

All in all, it was a good Xmas and I’m glad I recovered in time for Xmas.

Spent the eve at CJ’s place where we exchange presents, then went to his Auntie’s place where we had Xmas dinner ‘in the forest’. I think it was better this year because L. was there too so it’s kinda like 2 newcomers so I kinda stuck to her.

The uncle asked me again ‘Are you from Thailand?’ WHHHHHaaatt?? I bet if I went next year he would ask me the same thing.

We then went back to my place to spend a very uneventful ‘countdown’ where we watched DVDs.

These are what he got for me

(1) Practical present – A new charger, so I can have one at office and 1 at home. I’ve found myself without a charger at home over the weekend several times, and un-contactable, so this is a great gift :)

(2) Fun present – Tee hee! Sam and I saw the Transformers one at Toys R’ Us a few months back and I’ve been hankering for a Mr. Potato Head.

(3)  An ‘I want’ present! – I didn’t think he heard me when I was telling him about this book at Borders but he heard! And he got it. :) Coffee table book la, but I like it very much.

Anyway, being the practical (haha!) person I am, I got him a practical present. It is supposed to save him money from buying everyday stuff. Ya la, not very exciting or anything, but if he likes it I’m happy :)

And a handpainted photo frame!

My present for myself.

Not the Ipod Touch, it’s from my dad :) A cover for my ipod touch! It’s very nice and made of real leather, I don’t really like the silicone type covers.  And it’s (kind of) Hermes orange, so all the better!

I also succumbed and bought a pair of Gisele Bundchen flipflops. I know people have been saying how it’s overpriced and not very nice and stuff, but I like it!

And these are the ‘envelope’ clutch / sling bags he got for me at the Mango sale. It’s very versatile! And only 20bucks each. Actually I’m not sure, he sneaked to the counter while I’m in the changing room. But if it were 20 bucks, it’ll be really cheap! Even my dad says it’s cheap and he is notoriously picky when it comes to stuff like these.

OOO!

26 12 2007

What are the odds?

Sometime in 2006, a group of girlfriends gave themselves silly clubbing names. For slimy persistent guys.

I became Annabel. Jiahui became Ericia. Mel became Fanny.

Look what I found in an old Baby Blues comic yesterday.

Love

20 12 2007

When I was sick, she was there. She came downstairs to pick me up from the cab. She helped me to the doctor’s.

I needed a new dress to change into as the one I had on had my vomit on it, and she got my brother to bring it down for me. She helped me upstairs after we were at the doctor’s.

She carried a pail into my room, in case I needed to vomit sometime in the night. I dozed off with my hair wet from the shower, and she woke me up, to blow dry my hair so I don’t wake up with a headache.

She carried a mattress and slept outside my room. She kept watch over me throughout the night. She made sure I was okay.

In the morning, she cooked a breakfast that was good for my stomach. As I slept in my room throughout the day, she vacuumed the floor, mopped the floor. She washed by hand the very clothes I vomitted on the night before. It still breaks my heart that she had to do it.

When I didn’t get better at night, she went down to the other clinic in my estate, and queued up for me, while I slept upstairs. When it was nearing my turn, she called up so CJ could bring me down.

Today, I was feeling better, and I took one of my dresses out to the living room to alter. She looked at me, and took the dress over to help me with it. Suddenly I was so overcome with what she’s given me. So much, but never once asking for any thing back.

I love you Mum.

Sick :/

20 12 2007

I have been sick since last Monday night.

It’s really the worst feeling in the world to be sick. I feel like this year I have been hit more than usual – bad cold, persisting flu, hives, stomach flu.

I’ve been good this year!! :/

Huh!

4 12 2007

I did not go to Bukom, nor did I go out with my friend in the end! Suppose this is what happens when I actually do plan something… it never happens!

I ended up having dinner with CJ at Selegie and shopping at PS. Bought a pair of pajamas.  I keep thinking I can spend a bit more on other stuff because I hardly ever buy clothes or shoes nowadays. But the truth is my spending on clothes and shoes have gone to vitamins and toiletries! Just yesterday I spent 70 bucks on Crabtree and Evelyn stuff in the morning and 60 bucks at John Little in the evening. Argh! I wish I’d stop spending money because I should really be saving it for the trip.

Suppose I should be a bit more liberal about spending on this trip, what with it being my kind of graduation trip.

Anyway, yes! I did cut my hair. And straightened it. Again. In a span of 6 months I straightened my hair twice. I think there is a warning against doing things like that to your hair too often, but mine seems fine right now.

Geeky picture of me smiling too toothy-ily but it gets the job done. I look like a boy, no?

I love you :)

Oily girl

3 12 2007

I get to do something tomorrow that not even employees of Shell might have done.

I am going to Bukom!

Okay, granted that it is not the most exciting or glamourous of trips, but I think it’s an experience. I get to wear the hard hat and boots and all!

Just remembered I have to meet Amilia after work tomorrow and I am probably gonna be oily (I don’t know, I’m guessing). We are going to buy travel stuff! I’m not going travelling with her but we’re just gonna go get some travel stuff because we are going at about the same time. I’m probably going to get a pair of sweat pants, pajamas and a neck pillow. There is the stress of going on a first time shopping trip with a new friend, but I think it’ll be fun.

I am not an exciting person

2 12 2007

I’ve been so lazy about blogging, my recent entries are either photos with single line captions, or brainless ‘opinion’ entries which I think has no value add at all.

Strange thing is that my blog hits have always been about 50-100 since I started this blog (about 1/2 of them come from google searches – I don’t really advertise my blog to friends, so i figure it comes from people who googled models with ‘exotic’ names like Natalia Vodianova etc). And for some reason in the past 2 weeks my hits have been an average of 200 – 300, peaking at 338 on one day.

That’s quite a bit of hits, which is surprising considering I did not update much. And what’s updated is quite boring. I once blogged about ‘Skinny people rule!’, referring to the whole incident in Madrid where they banned models whose BMI is below XX number. Hits for that period of time were crazy until I started spelling the names of the people involved with asterisks, so that the google machine won’t pick it up.

Anyway, a couple of weeks back I noticed an incoming link from a N*kia internal website, which was a bit surprising. No activity there anymore so I wonder what that was about. Wrong link perhaps.

Because CJ said I looked pissed at him in the previous photo. :)
