Another thing I love from Da Paolo Gastronomia are the Lemon Cupcakes.
It’s the kind of sweet that feels genuine, not artificial sweeteners. Kind of like the sweet that would make your teeth ache.
And the colour! It looks like a carnival. Don’t ask me why a lemon cupcake is blue. They have shades of blue, yellow and green, which are really really cute!
I saw that they have lemon cream cookies today (: Hm… breakfast treat for me tomorrow.
CJ and I also tried Cold Rock, this new ice cream bar at Holland Village.
Basically what happens is you choose 2 flavors of icecream, add a ’side’ and they’ll mix it up for you. Actually the concept sounds really Ben & Jerry-ish isn’t it – think Phish Food and Cherry Garcia. And the mix-ins are weird and wonderful… there are Jaffas, Snickers, Freddo Frogs, cookie dough, apple pie, Bounty, Violet Crumble – anything you can think to mix into ice cream, they have it!
Our ice cream mixture here is VERY WEIRD… I think we got carried away! First, I got Mango and CJ had Tia Maria (alcoholic coffee). And then I wanted Nerds as my mix in.

Haha. So I guess you really need to choose your combination properly.
It tastes quite mediocre actually, most probably because of my combination. And it is actually a bit of the steep side.
I am very very excited about the SATC movie coming soon and you can bet on me being the first to grab tickets, join contests to grab whatever goodie bags / watch premier (which I got to do for 2046) etc etc.
But I’m most excited about THE WARDROBE! (I grabbed this picture off popsugar.com. It’s an insanely addictive site, I have to visit it everyday)
I am loving Charlotte’s and Miranda’s dress. Carrie’s wardrobe – I don’t have to say anything. You know I crave anything that Carrie wears. Lucky SJP.
I know some spoilers about the movie so if you want to know just highlight the space between the brackets. [Charlotte gets pregnant! And she also adopted a Chinese baby, so 2 kids?]
Btw in other exciting chick lit news – The Secret World of a Shopaholic is being made into a movie. Isla Fisher plays Becky Bloomwood. Yay!! I wonder who plays Luke, who in my mind is a Mark Darcy played by Colin Firth kind of character.

I use that phrase on CJ once every couple of weeks or so. He likes to take care, I want to do things on my own. He’s doing it out of love, I’m resisting because I think I need to grow.
Areas around my place – ‘clusters’ – are reported to have the top dengue cases in Singapore. One of the is the highest in 9 years! St 31, St 21, Centre…
I am practically surrounded by people with dengue!
And I hate sleeping with air conditioning (makes my skin dry and it’s too cold anyway) so I am so vulnerable to these mosquitoes!
My office is about 5 minutes away from Da Paolo Gastronomia. Sam and I went there last week and I keep thinking about the pasta salad! (I had the mushroom flan)
I love the smell of the place, and me being a fan of (1)pasta (2)mushrooms (3)sun dried tomatoes (4)anything with olive oil am very very very happy. Anyway, I just had the pasta salad. It’s not bad, but I didn’t like the asparagus or rocket?
(Don’t ask me why I took it from this angle… it makes me feel dizzy)
So anyway, yes. I think I’ll definitely get fat from repeatedly returning to buy more goodies. After work today I’m gonna go get the lemon cupcakes! :D
Edit – I will be sitting upstairs with the designers / creative for a month or so, before moving downstairs with the projects side. I love it! We are in a room, and it’s v cosy, with a balcony outside. I’m just sitting beside the floor to ceiling windows so there is a lot of natural light. And they play music loudly, and go home early. Haha. So it’s now me alone, and I’m watching the Simpsons.
Rush Hour 3 – with Lovey. It was all right. Very typical Rush Hour type movie, very typical Jackie Chan over acting, very typical Chris Rock comedy routine. It’s getting tired, and may as well… it’s the third one already. That said, at least with typical, it isn’t bad. It is entertaining, just nothing out of the ordinary. Favourite part was the comedy routine with ‘Yu’ and ‘Mi’. Ha.
The Bourne Ultimatum – with Lovey. I did not catch Bourne 1&2 (I am sensing a pattern here! I did not watch any of the Spiderman, Ocean’s 11, Harry Potter series… until I met CJ!) so I was a little slow on the uptake, and needed CJ to fill me in on the plot here and there. I liked it. The way they choreograph Matt Damon’s plan as he moved around was flawless – especially in the train station. I loved it!
Fido - with Lovey. Ingredients for a cult movie… except I’m not sure if it will be one! The premise of the story was interesting enough and a little macabre as well. It makes me uncomfortable. Like I don’t know if I should be terrified or amused. I guess that makes it interesting?
Ratatouille – with Lovey. Cute! Remy is adorable! Disney spent a lot of money promoting this film and rightly so, because it is really good. I won’t say it is my favourite Pixar movie – Cars or Finding Nemo takes the spot – but it is quite entertaining. Except I find it difficult to like Linguini’s character. He isn’t offensive, but he does not seem to have any strength at all! Love Remy, especially the scene of him in the bottle. Rats are cute! And Gasteau is adorable too … (/buddyvoice)’But… I’m just a figment of your imagination!’
Evan Almighty – with Lovey. A lot of people are giving bad reviews about this movie… but I liked it! I guess I have a soft spot of Steve Carrell (He was so funny in Anchorman!) Anyway, comparisons to Bruce Almighty would definitely be part of the critique. I liked Bruce Almighty better, but this movie is good on it’s own too. A few criticisms stated how Evan Almighty had no central theme… *rolls eyes* come on… sometimes you just want to watch a movie for fun! Looking forward to Steve Carrell’s next role — Dan in Real Life?
Hairspray – with Sam. Love!!!!! Especially Link! I’m sure I’m not the first female to gush over Zac Efron. He looks so good as Link! Now, I don’t like him much in Highschool Musical. I didn’t watch it, just don’t like him as a blonde. But with black hair… his blue eyes are beautiful! I loved ‘The Nicest Kids in Town’
Especially the roll call! James Marsden as Corny Collins is fantastic. Nikki Blonsky is very enthusiastic. John Travolta… I can’t find a word that captures how I feel which is basically ‘man-this-is-so-weird-but-i-can’t-look-away’. First time I’ve seen Christopher Walken in a role like this. Queen Latifah… fabulous! Michelle Pfeifer is so beautiful… I loved her in Dangerous Minds. Amanda Bynes is adorable. Elijah Kelly is smooooth .
Initially, we were a little hesitant to order too many drinks because we haven’t been clubbing for a while and we might not be able to take it.
The next day, I recounted to CJ the drinks we shared among us – 4 Lamboghinis, 2 jugs Vodka Ribena, 4 apple shooters, 1 peach martini, 2 whiskey dry, 1 Corona.
I think that was our normal amount when we used to go clubbing in the past! Haha.
It was fun… I can’t recall the last time I had such fun dancing! And of course it was great catching up with the gorgeous babes

Oh, the smoke free campaign… I love it! Can you believe I can actually still smell my perfume after we left? It’s great. No smokey hair. I love it! Now, what they can do now is an ‘Eliminate greasy guys’ campaign.
