What I will remember

27 08 2007

When I get old, I probably won’t remember that Gombak and SAF drew the game. I probably won’t remember the how Gombak drew only because of the SAF own goal. I won’t remember that the cheerleaders on both sides are so different, one with coordinated outfits and dance steps and the other with mismatched tshirts but more heart and soul the other can boast of. I won’t remember that you paid for the drink, then proceeded to walk away empty handed.

But I will remember that you held my hands as we walked down the stairs. I will remember how happy you were when you were watching the game. I will remember how expectant you look when you finally reveal your surprise. I will remember how you sneaked up on me from behind and hugged me. I will remember that I gave you kisses from Buddy, Bobby and Benny and you gave me kisses from you. I will remember the feel of your shirt as I leaned down and rubbed my face on it. I will remember pressing my nose to yours and saying ‘Bop!’. I will remember sneaking peeks at you from the corner of my eye. I will remember turning around to look at you, then realizing all the time you were looking at me.

Mindless

26 08 2007

Help

26 08 2007

Kinda lazy to blog fully about stuff, just wanted to point everyone towards this link –>

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/savethecountryside/

Go read it, and perhaps we can help save the countryside. It is a really beautiful area, and imagine the waste if it was used for granite storage.

Apricots

24 08 2007

I went to visit CJ’s mum a couple of days back as she just flew in from Australia.

‘She got you a lot of stuff’ he said.

And that was right. She got me 3 plastic bags worth of stuff.

Bag 1 – 2 jackets, brightly coloured. CJ thinks I’ll never wear it.

Bag 2 – Beauty stuff! A makeup case from Lancome, Lancome miracle body cream, Christian Dior loose powder, a traveller size YSL Paris perfume, small bottle Escada Ibiza perfume, a sapphire pendant on a gold chain, powder puffs

Bag 3 – Roasted macadamia nuts covered in dark chocolate and THIS –>

dsc00896.jpg

Dried apricots! A whole bag of them!

And I can’t stop eating them! It’s so addictive. I think I ate about 16 of them yesterday. It’s dried apricots lightly coated in sugar, and has bits of almonds in it.

I’ll eat about 3, then stop. When I’m feeling peckish, I’ll go to the fridge and look for food. And eat more. Talking to CJ on the phone, I’ll suddenly remember the apricots (thought process runs like CJ –> CJ’s mum –> apricots –> eat) and will eat 3 more.

I will gain weight!

Anyway, PS loves Bart from the Simpsons, and I like Homer.

Why don’t we have H&M in Sg?

23 08 2007

A while back I moaned about the lack of Targets in Singapore.

Today I moan ‘Why no H&M in Sg???’ (There is in HK, so happy shopping RR :P )

LOOK AT THE GORGEOUS BLACK TRENCH ON THE LEFT.

Never been a big fan of Cavalli stuff but this is so beautiful.

Not a rough it out girl

22 08 2007

I always liked to think of myself as a rough-it-out, pitch tents and camp out under the starlights kind of girl.

But I’m not.

When travelling, I need clean sheets to sleep in, clean floors to walk around in and most importantly, clean toilets to use. Very important. I’m not those snobbish have to sleep in 5 star hotels type, but the basics are very important.

But still, I like being in the outdoors, sleeping underneath the starlights and wake up to sunlight shining brightly.

So imagine my happiness when I found this!

nitetravelpodpa_468x267.jpg

Perfect!

(Via Daily Mail)

Can rough it out for all you want, then go back and sleep in nice sheets and shower in clean toilets. Perfect. I love this idea. I want one!

So if anyone would like to go camping with me, please be prepared that I’m not about to sleep in a tent. Ha.

Happy Birthday!

21 08 2007

To one of my closest friends Cher. It’s been 5 years since we went shopping the first day we met each other in orientation. :)

++

Benefit Cosmetics with Sam!! :D :D:D I can’t wait. It’s already been shipped and we hope to get it by September. Hooray!

Things I got – Badgal Lash (I hope it’s better than the overpriced Lancome one!), Dandelion and Silky Finish Lipstick in Nice Knickers! Whee I can’t wait, makeup makes me high!

++

Got lovely presents in the last couple of weeks. YM went to the States and got me the B&J lip balm and this cute Christine Dr. sign. Mike got lots of funny flavoured Pocky and candles from Thailand (and my birthday present hehe). My colleagues got me a box of Godiva chocs.

Erm, may seem weird but I get nervous when I get presents. I’m just afraid people might not like the things I buy them, as much as I love the ones they got me.

++

Teeth cleaning on Friday. It’s really great to have someone who cares for your teeth so much. I feel really bad that sometimes I seem to take it for granted. Was talking to Cher last night on how come she likes teeth cleaning and I fear the process so much. I like the feeling of cleaned teeth but the process scares me a bit. It’s because I have weak gums that bleed quite easily. So teeth cleaning is painful for me because my gums bleed like nobody’s business.

But Uncle Tony is really gentle, so the pain is minimized. And I have to rinse my mouth with a plaque prevention mouth wash – So the Listerine I’ve been using all the while is not as effective because it only breaks down plaque while the Oral-B which I have to use now is more effective because prevents plaque. Or something like that.

Have never felt so protective of my teeth.

Btw, am avoiding sweets and sugary stuff of all kind or at least cutting down the amount of sugary stuff I eat.

Bourne Ultimatum! NOW!!! :D

Portrait

9 08 2007

I didn’t post photos from my Commencement cause I didn’t think I look very nice (no makeup, just rushed down from work, frizzy hair etc). Mum booked a date for all of us to go down for the family portrait last week and I had full makeup on so the pictures are nicer! I still have my wonky eye not unlike P.Hilton’s because my left eye was still recovering from the allergic reaction.

dsc00656.jpg

Together with my constipated brother.

I didn’t have a lot of photos with my family, because I spent half the time posing (as I’ve guessed, on a ‘library’ backdrop, with my hand on a globe, with my hands on some books).

We had dinner later at the Serangoon area.

To further demonstrate said wonky eye, which reminds me of how CJ said Shannen Doherty had Picasso eyes.

dsc00676.jpg

It feels weird walking about with a pound of eyeliner on my eyelids. Yup, I told the makeup artist to use my makeup cause I didn’t want to share makeup with other people. If I’d knew she would have mauled my Bobbi Brown eyeliner, dig too enthusiastically into my Chanel lip palette and use my Benefit concealer like face powder, I would have brought cheaper makeup. Heart pain, you know. I do not have a lot of money to spend on makeup.

We went to Jacq’s place to visit the cats.

dsc00795.jpg

Cyrus, which I have a soft spot for because CJ told me why he is always so frightened of strangers nowadays. I loved it that he was just lying there, then he saw me aiming my camera at him, and he just stared at the camera, like he knew I was taking the photo and he was posing.

dsc00798.jpg

Odin in a trance. CJ told me Odin used to be very sick when he was a kitten and he (CJ) would force feed Odin his medicine. Odin was also very weak and used to eat his dinner just to please CJ and Jacq and would fall asleep while eating. When I was there Odin would walk over and rub his head on my elbow and lick my elbow :)

Update: No picture of Midnight cause in my camera he is just a black fur ball.

If you use Yahoo Mail Beta, and compose a new mail, there is actually something quite fun you could try.

When sending out an email, click on the ’subject’ button (like you would click on ‘To’ or ‘CC’ button for the address book to come up).

They actually programmed some funny sentences for the subject titles! I think they call it Subjec-O-Matique.

I sent one email to CJ just now with the title ‘Shaolin Golden Palm!’

Some others I like -

‘Orange Mocha Frappachino!’ – From Zoolander! *winks at Lovey

‘As a boy I used to weep in barber shops’

‘How was tomorrow? I think you know what I mean.’

‘Todd! Do you not know that I get farty and bloaty when I have a foamy latte?!’ – Is this Zoolander as well??

‘All your platypus are belong to us.’

‘Save the whales! Collect the whole set!’

‘I’m NOT fat…that’s my money belt’

I could go on…

Hm, uneasy feeling in my stomach. I think too much?! I hate the feeling of losing friends. It is difficult for me to retain friends, I don’t know why.

Zen Shindo Art

7 08 2007

We had dinner at this restaurant called Zen Shindo Art at East Coast Park today. CJ knows the chef, so we went down to visit. Anyway, the food is really good! I was just reading a review and the chef previously served in Burj Al Arab and was head chef at M Hotel, which of course impressed me a lot. Burj Al Arab! I want to go there one day to see what it is like in real life.

So… the food!

Our appetizer was the Mango and Prawn roll

dsc00803.jpg

Very very nice, and the prawns are really fresh and juicy and goes very well with the mango.

dsc00804.jpg

I love the presentation of this dish. CJ had this… I can’t recall the name, but it tastes like Kobe beef. The beef is wonderful and cooked just right, very tender and juicy. Together with the sauce it is really yummy.

dsc00806.jpg

I had the soft shell crab mee sua. It is so yummy! The crab meat was so fresh and the mee sua was a nice dish to set the soft shell crab on. I find the mee sua not too overpowering such that I am not able to taste the crab meat. And the serving is huge!

I liked Zen, and the standard of cooking was the tops. Seriously, you can tell that the food is prepared carefully, with thought and effort and not churned out mindlessly. And the best thing is the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. And the waitresses are very attentive. I liked it and I am excited about trying the rest! Except the restaurant is in East Coast and quite inconvenient for me to get to. Ha.
