Cuteness overload

26 03 2007

Soooooo cute!!! I especially like the third kiss where he is looking at the camera coyly from the side and blows a kiss.

CJ says he looks a bit like Buddy.

Did you know you can watch new commercials on the Pillsbury website and they have bloopers after the commercial? So cute!

Vivo eateries

24 03 2007

I’m not becoming a foodie / food blogger kind of person (: Just thought it would be nice to show some pictures of nice places to eat at Vivo.

White Dog Cafe

Lunch with Cheryl a few days back. The set meal was only 10.90 and it comes with soup (Prawn Brisket), main course and coffee/tea. Comparison to Earle Swensens immediately come to mind so let’s weigh the pros and con of WhiteDog vis-a-vis Swensens.

Pros (+White Dog) – Comes with soup of the day, main course yummier, faster service, cheaper
Cons (-White Dog) – Does not have salad bar, coffee not as good

But other than that, I prefer White Dog Cafe!

‘So cute!’ I told Cheryl, ‘the water is served in this bottle like thing!’
‘Erm they do that too at another cafe’

Soup of the day. Is nice, but has a bit of lingering seafood aftertaste.

I ordered Grilled chicken with mushroom sauce and Cher got Glazed salmon. I think it’s really really good! I never really liked salmon but this was quite yummy. And the mushroom sauce for the chicken (which was nicely done) was very tasty.

Really recommend this if you find yourself at VivoCity in the afternoons. Try the set lunch.

Bosses 黑社会

Haha! We thought it was a nice concept for a restaurant, although it would have been nice if they addressed us as ‘老大’. Hehe.

The interior decor is beautiful, and not as dark as the exterior portrayed it to be. I guess it is a glamourised version of someone’s idea of restaurants for ’society bosses’ in Hong Kong.

Tables were mahjong table style – you pull out the little drawer that normally contains spare change, and the menu slides out.

Appetizer. Costs 4 bucks so you better eat it!!! But very very pretty I must admit.

We ordered a few dishes which we shared among ourselves.

Chicken and Yam in coconut sauce. (Or something like that) We agreed it tastes like Bobo Chacha. Very strong taste, smells very good. After the first few spoonful of soup I felt that I had to drink lots of plain water to wash it down though. I like the yam.

Honey pork ribs! My favourite. Hard to go wrong with something that has honey on it methinks. Not bad, too bad there was so little. Haha. Only grouse – so much fatty meat on my first piece. Haha.

Stewed beef with egg fried rice. Found the rice a little oily, but overall it is yummy. The beef is quite tasty.

纸包鸡. I like it, it’s very delicious. Too bad there was so little of it… only three pieces! :/ The meat is very tender, but a bit on the salty side.

Fried noodles with cabbage (and something else I can’t remember). It is tastier than it looks! Noodles a little tough but it is still very delicious. A bit like Hong Kong noodles.

Overall, it has its good and bad moments. I think I would go back to try the other dishes. Esp Chilli crab vermicelli (YUMMEH!!!)

Artsy Fartsy

24 03 2007

Art project coming up and I am going to paint this. Wish me luck. The last time I painted was with CJ at the RedArt session, and certainly not something as intricate as this.

This is a picture of a traditional Javanese wayang puppet I found on a Discover Indonesia website.

The colours are beautiful no? :)

And I went to Art Friend today to get my materials. Thanks to Peter (the salesperson), I was able to get all I need at an affordable cost. :)

Here are my painter stuf – canvas, acrylic paints , brushes, paint markers and a tube of gold acrylic paint.

I think the gold I got might be a little too gold, I should have gotten the pale gold / bronze.

Today

22 03 2007

In the afternoon he called me.

‘There is this new device that allows you to walk through walls! Have you heard?’

‘Erm… no… what’s it?’

‘A door’

‘…’

When I met him he gave me this :P

I wanted to go for a manicure… Tried Nail Valley at Harborfront. It’s not bad. The service is good. If I chipped my nails in the following three days I can go back and they can repair it for me!

‘A lot can happen in three days!’ I told the manicurist

‘Ya like defusing bombs, climbing trenches’ says CJ

:P

Anyway I asked if they can do alternating colours for me! And they did!

Hehe!

Aiyah if you don’t try funky colours when you are young then when are you going to ever do it right.

Adorably Hermes

Picture from purseblog . com

These are Hermes coin pouches! It is so adorable and in my favourite colours! Especially the hedgehog (made from ostrict skin). Unless I have too much money to spend (and what are the chances of that happening in the near future hm?) this is definitely out of range. It’s about 900USD each. I’m not saying the price is justified, but I can understand why it is more expensive because it is crocodile and ostrict.

Being exciting

17 03 2007

Nothing new with me lately. I am still doing the same things I was doing last year. There is nothing to look forward to. Nothing new and nothing about to happen. I feel a bit restless and it makes me wonder if it’s time for a change of scene. But how? You only can’t wait to graduate if you have a job waiting for you.

Every once in a while I feel like that. Cyclical moodiness I think.

Ya I  know I’ve been very complain-y lately. I think I shall go and dye my hair.

Bliss

Let’s go to the park
I wanna kiss you underneath the stars
Maybe we’ll go too far
We just don’t care
We just don’t care
We just don’t care
